On the eve of Christ's birth, a multitude of angels burst forth into the visible realm to announce His arrival. Their proclamation revealed the heart of God toward humanity: “Peace on earth and goodwill toward man.” This peace is not a declaration of harmony among men but an expression of God's posture toward mankind. God Himself had become human to redeem all who would believe.

As a result of His incarnation and atoning work, we are invited into an everlasting covenant of peace.

Isaiah 54:9 “For to Me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you. 10 Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may be shaken, My loving devotion will not depart from you, and My covenant of peace will not be broken,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Seated with Christ: A Place of Honor and Authority

Not only does God deliver us from sin and death, He also offers us a place in His family—seated in Christ at His right hand. Scripture declares, "At His right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11).

What does it mean to be seated at God's right hand?

  1. Authority and Power

    • In ancient cultures, the right hand symbolized strength, power, and authority. Kings would place their most trusted advisors or second-in-command at their right hand, granting them authority to act on their behalf.

    • Similarly, being seated in Christ signifies the delegated authority we have as His representatives on earth.

  2. Honor and Favor

    • The right hand was the position of highest honor, reserved for those in a special relationship of trust and importance.

    • As believers, we are elevated to this place of honor in God’s family, not because of our works, but because of Christ’s finished work.

Living from a Place of Peace and Purpose

This covenant of peace and our position in Christ redefines our identity. You are elevated to a place of honor, security, and authority in God's family. Let this truth shape your self-worth and self-image:

  • You are loved with an everlasting love.

  • You are secure in an unbreakable covenant of peace.

  • You are empowered to live a life that reflects God’s glory and honor.

As you meditate on these truths, let them inspire you to walk into each day with confidence and joy, bringing glory to God in all you do.
