“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints”
You have two sets of eyes; the physical eyes in your head and the eyes of your heart. The eyes in your head see the physical realm, while the eyes of your heart can “see” the spiritual realm. The eyes of your head are analytical, taking in data and detail while the eyes of your heart are designed to see kingdom concepts.
While the “eyes of the heart” may be a metaphor, we do have the capacity to “see” or more accurately perceive with our hearts. An aspect of our new heart is spiritual and able to interact directly with the spirit of God.
The beautiful truth is that you can choose which eyes to use at any moment. You can choose to get out of your head and into your heart, by turning your spiritually perceptive eyes to Jesus.
At any moment you can turn your awareness to Him and regain true sight. True sight is achieved when you see how God sees. When you see yourself how God sees, you have true sight. When you see a circumstance as God sees it you are seeing clearly because God’s perspective is THE truth.
